Bypass is such a wonderful word. It’s a very neutral word. Neither aggressive nor indirect. It’s just perfect. To bypass is to completely ignore, to not be associated in any way with whatever it is you are bypassing. And you allow that thing to exist. You are just going past it without any resistance.
Now what are we bypassing? What do I really mean when I say bypass the mind? Let me give you a small example of what happened just now.
I was in a meeting and at around 5:10 I looked at my watch. My gym is at 5:30 and I generally leave the house at 5:15. And the chatter began. Okay, the meeting needs to get done in the next five minutes. I have to start telling them that I need to go. I have to start preparing. I have to change my clothes. Then this, then that.
I took my bag and I suddenly became aware that I’m not really happy about going to the gym. I just felt it in my body. But my mind kept telling me, you’ve not gone for the last two days. It’s a good idea to go. You paid so much money. You can go by scooter, you can go by car, you can listen to something on the way. Just go to the gym.
If I was not aware, I would have allowed my mind to take over. It would have forced me to go. But my body was telling me maybe not today. So I just bypassed the mind.
And this is the whole idea. To whom are you choosing to listen? In fact, you will have to stop choosing. Whatever you choose is the mind. When you are not choosing and it’s being done through you, that is no-mind. That is bypassing the mind.
I just felt like not going and I trusted it. I sat down in front of my computer and now I’m speaking about it for whatever this project is. I don’t know. I’m just allowing myself to be used in any way it wants. It’s crazy.
